A story passed on by their daughter and their grand daughter

Cava at Kifisias
For different reasons, my grand father and my father through family story-tellling passed on to me the need, maybe even the obligation, to honor, to apply and to offer my mental energy to the torrent of creation.
This duty, in the sense of commitment to work, was a strong common characteristic of the two men. That's how they carved their path, owing to that they created.
A family of wine producers from Pyrgos, Bulgaria, the Karoulia family followed the fate of Greeks of the Interbellum generation.
The toil and the hardship of the family found refuge at the creative and industrious spirit of Vlasis Karoulias who established himself in trade and in successful business activity.
The Calliga family had its roots in learning and intellectual work, with the exception of Yianni Calliga who transformed the foundations and the culture of the family into a
into a life struggle for the establishment of artistic innovation in wine trade.
He set as a life goal the return to his Cephalonia roots helping his island to a financial rebirth based on its own local resources. Up to that day, the island lived on the funds sent by immigrants to America and Australia.
Robola, local traditional wine of Cephalonia, found in the creative mind of Yianni Calliga the inceptor of its new identity. It became a legend … and from an untraveled local wine became world know in a tarp bag, sealed with wax as a proof of success.
With a few words I tried to speak of Vlasis Karoulias and Yiannis Calliga.
With a lot of effort and persistence I will try to maintain the liveliness of their thinking.
I believe that the history of a land is the history of its people.
The “Lefko Ati” (White Steed), is a name that will guide me on this journey. A symbolic name, for a product – wine – that symbolizes the Hellenic land
I want to continue the family values
I call all of you with me.
Choose your vision, give it a name, and combine it with Greek wine.
